It is mounted on a sandstone wall near Dee Why Beach, however, it is likely it was moved there from its original setting. On the back of the wall is a bronze plaque commemorating 70 years of Anzac Day services by the Dee Why RSL sub-Branch. Inscription Roll Dee Why Life Saving and Surf Club Roll of Honor [Names] The Great War 1914–1919 Unveiled by Right Hon, Joseph Cook, P.C. 9th April 1917 Plaque 1937–2007 This plaque was presented to the Dee Why R.S.L. Sub-branch by the Dee Why R.S.L. Club Ltd, to celebrate their 70 years of continual Anzac services at this Shrine of Remembrance in memory of those local Service Men and Women who answered the call to arms in all wars for the defence of our Nation and left our shores with many never returning, to protect our democratic way of life and preserve peace and freedom to the nations of the World.
