Gulgong Methodist Church Great War Honor Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial is a timber honour roll commemorating members of the Gulgong Methodist Church who served in the First World War. The honour roll is topped with a large timber shelf with a small shelf at the bottom. Decorative carving of a shield between floral garlands is positioned in the centre at the top of the honour roll. The name of the honour roll is written in gold shadow lettering below the carved detail. The names and fate of 12 servicemen are listed in gold in a single column on the board. The honour roll was unveiled in the church on 12 October 1919 by Reverend G Warren Payne, chairman of the Bathurst District (Mudgee Guardian and North-Western Representative, 2 October 1919). The honour roll is now located in the military room at the Gulgong Pioneers Museum, and is available for viewing when the museum is open to the public. Inscription The Great War 1914-1918.
