Description / Background

The Mosman War Memorial was originally dedicated on 11 November 1922 in honour of First World War service men and women. It is a large stone monument, positioned in the centre of a low cruciform stone platform, surrounded by lawn. The names of those who served are inscribed into the sides of the monument and gilded.

Accompanying the monument is a garden dedicated to those who served in the Second World War, marked with a plaque on a plinth. There is also a memorial sundial to commemorate subsequent conflicts, and a flagpole. Cypress trees, gardens and four stone and cement light poles also form part of the precinct.
