The Australia's Memorial Walk at North Head Sanctuary in Manly, NSW, honours those who have served and supported the defence of Australia in peace or in war. The paved pathway links five monuments dedicated to the Colonial Wars, the First and Second World Wars, post-Second World War conflicts and peacekeeping. A special Gallipoli monument also stands along the pathway. Each monument has its own inscriptions. Pavers in the walkway are inscribed with the names and messages of those who have served in the Navy, Army, Air Force and Merchant Navy in the Defence of Australia and her Allies. The walkway was commenced in 1999 and was dedicated on1 December 2012 by the Governor of New South Wales, Her Excellency Professor Marie R. Bashir AC CVO.
