This roll of honor was created to commemorate those who served during the First  World War. It was installed after the war at the Crows Nest Presbyterian Church now known as Crows Nest Uniting Church.

The Reverend Alex Clark was the minister at the Crows Nest Presbyterian Church and in 1916 he accompanied the Australian Expeditionary Forces to England as a Chaplain. He served approximately 12 months at Salisbury Plains in the UK.

Crows Nest Uniting Church is NSW State Heritage Listed.
