An engraved band of vine leaves circles the column. The monument is set on two steps and is surrounded by a small circular rose garden and paving. Inscriptions and veterans' names are engraved and gilded. Inscription Wrapped across sides 1 and 2 Egypt France Erected by Murrumbidgee Shire and residents of the Darlington Point District. They gave their lives for God King and Empire in the Great War. 1914 - 1918 [Names] "What shall we give in return for so much."
