On the left to the main entrance to the Dee Why RSL Club is a sunken garden. The walls of the garden have thousands of individual brass plaques dedicated to those who fought for our freedom. There is a tablet with a large plaque on it displaying the words of "The Ode" and the emblems for each of the service branches.

This memorial garden was officially open by THE HONOURABLE R.W. ASKIN M.L.A. PREMIER OF NEW SOUTH WALES ON SUNDAY, 20th APRIL 1969

'In memory of those splendid men whose passing has left a void in the lives of those fortunate enough to share their friendship, the warmth of their affection and their strength of courage in defending the cause of freedom and the rights of man.'

This memorial garden was conceived and constructed by a volunteer committee comprising H.F. HAYES – CONVENOR J.W. COURTNEY, G.S. DRAPER H. BROWN, J.O. CRABTREE W. MORRIS, F. BARROW A.B. HOLBURN, A.G. MOYLE B.R. McEVOY, C.J. VAN DER-WEERT J.T. VOCKLER

On the gate to the garden:

This garden is dedicated to the memory of our esteemed departed comrades.
