S.C.E.G.S War Memorial Playing Fields Roll of Honour Middle Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background A series of three large unpolished grey granite slabs on which the inscription and veterans' names have been carved. The leading slab which forms one side of the stairway up to the playing fields, has the badge of Sydney Church of England Grammar School (S.C.E.G.S.) and a Bible verse inscribed. There is a bronze dedication plaque on the opposing side of the stairway. Inscription Leading slab '...but if when you do right and suffer for it you take it patiently, you have God's approval' 1 Peter 2: 20. Dedication plaque This roll of honour was generously provided by the Shore Old Boys' Union in honour of those Old Boys and Masters of the school who served their nation on greater fields. It was dedicated by the Right Reverend Dr Glen Davies BSc, PhD, MDiv, ThM, DipA, Bishop of Sydney and Old Boy of Shore.
