Teralba Soldiers' Memorial Middle Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial is a grey-granite pillar, positioned on a concrete base. It features a carved cap and dome piece, which is topped by a metal lamp. At the bottom of the front face is a decorative marble tablet, which bears a relief sculpture of two crossed rifles, positioned above a slouch hat. A second marble insert is on the bottom of the north (right) face and is inscribed with details of the unveiling. The names are inscribed on the north, south, and east faces, which have been polished. Each list of names is bordered with an outline of a scroll. The memorial was made by Messers Meldrum and Markey of Newcastle. It was unveiled on 27 April 1918 by Lance Corporal W.N. Miller, who was the "first Teralba soldier to enlist" and is inscribed on the roll (Newcastle Morning Herald and Miners' Advocate, 29 April 1918). The memorial faces east and is located in Teralba's Anzac Park. The park is entry number 1036 from the Geographical Names Board of NSW.
