Description / Background

Tall rectangular pillar, with several tiers, made of sandstone with marble insets on three sides inscribed with an honour roll from the First World War. Also attached to the memorial is a marble plaque commemorating the fallen Second World War soldiers. On the fourth side of the pillar are three bronze plaques commemorating those who served in the Second World War from Wyndham, Burragate and Rocky Hall.

In 1996 the memorial was rededicated and an additional plaque was attached. It was the marble honour roll for the First World War from Burragate that was saved from the demolished Burragate School of Arts.
