Barraba and District Second World War Honour Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The memorial is a large polished rectangular timber honour roll, commemorating the service men and women who enlisted in the Second World War from Barraba and the surrounding district. The honour board is framed by a dark timber border and the memorial name and donation details are painted in large white lettering across the top. The names of 546 veterans are painted in gold and listed alphabetically in 14 columns on the honour roll. A painted diamond after the name of 27 veterans listed on the board indicates they died during the conflict. The memorial was donated by S A (Moe) Witten and the families of the late H A (Harry) Hiscock. It is not known where the honour roll was originally located. The memorial is now located inside the Barraba War Memorial Hall.
