Beaulieu First World War Honour Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This simply designed timber honour roll, has a Gothic-style shape, with names in gilt. It was unveiled at the dedication ceremony of the Beaulieu Soldiers' Memorial Hall on Wednesday 14 September 1932. Mrs May Bielby had the honour of unveiling the roll in recognition of her work in the movement to establish a memorial hall. At the function, a captured war trophy, a German machine gun, was also installed. Mr H. C. Bielby, one of the returned servicemen, had been asked to be a trustee of the trophy. The Inverell Times on 16 September 1932 described the opening ceremony of the hall and dedication of the honour roll in detail, and also listed the names of those soldiers who had served. The hall is now known as the Beaulieu Memorial Theatre.
