Dungog Christ Church Great War Honour Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Dungog Christ Church Great War Honour Roll is a large polished timber board, located within the Dungog Anglican Church. It has a traditional pediment at the top with a Bottony Cross. This distinctive cross is a variation of the Latin or Greek Cross and features trefoils at the end of each arm. The design symbolises Jesus and the Holy Trinity. The alphabetical names of those who served and fell are printed in gold within four sections on the main panel of the board. The names are framed by decorative supporting columns on either side. The Dungog Chronicle: Durham and Gloucester Advertiser, 2 May 1919 published a report on the roll, stating "at Christ Church, Dungog, on Monday evening last, a roll of honor was unveiled containing the following names." It then listed the names in two sections: those who returned and those who were killed in action.
