Kittegora Public School Second World War Honor Roll Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Kittegora Public School Second World War Honor Roll is a polished timber board with gold lettering and a gable-shaped top. It has supporting timber above the classically designed pediment and stepped sides. At the bottom it has supporting shelves. The crossed flags of the Union Jack and Australian flags demonstrates the allegiance to the Empire. The listing of the names in alphabetical order indicates the memorial was unveiled after the end of the war. The quality of printing and architectural detail of the piece shows it was manufactured by a professional company. Many large department stores in both urban and country areas specialised in the manufacture of such memorials in their furniture department. The roll would have been unveiled in the Kittegora Hall at the time. It is now located in the Coolamon RSL Hall. Kittegora Public School was established as a Provisional School from May 1907 to November 1918 and a Public School from May 1928 to March 1947.
