Description / Background

This polished timber honour roll with gold leaf lettering was made at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory (SAF) c.1920 to honour SAF workers who served during the First World War.

Of the 72 men who are named on this board, 32 are listed on the Lithgow War Memorial, and elsewhere, as having died in action in Gallipoli, Egypt or Europe.

The honour roll is on permanent display in the Lithgow SAF Museum. It underwent professional repair and conservation in July 2024, funded by a NSW Government Community War Memorials Fund grant.
