Description / Background

The memorial is a timber board honouring the men of Possum Creek who served in the Second World War. The names of twelve servicemen are printed in gold lettering and listed alphabetically in the centre of the board.

In May 1947 the community at Possum Creek commenced discussions regarding an honour roll. It was not until a year later, on 24 May 1948, that the honour roll was unveiled by Messrs A Blewitt and R Fowler as part of celebrations for Empire Day (Northern Star, 1 June 1948).

The honour roll was unveiled at Possum Creek and is now located in the Bangalow RSL Memorial Hall.
