Description / Background

The memorial is a simply designed timber honour roll. It has a classical pediment at the top and an eternal flame carved on either side of the board. The inscription and names of those who served in the First World War are painted in gold, in the centre of the board.

The roll was completed by Mr Mitchell. It was unveiled on the evening of Thursday, 9 December 1915 (The Raleigh Sun, 3 December 1915). On 17 December, the Raleigh Sun described the ceremony in detail, including the names of those on the roll. The board was unveiled by Mrs J. Pollock, a member of St Andrews Presbyterian Church.

The memorial is located in the front foyer of St Andrews Presbyterian Church, which is located in the grounds of the Bellingen Uniting Church. Access to the memorial is restricted to the opening hours of St Andrews.
