Sydney Harbour Trust First World War Honour Roll Middle Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background Impressed brass board built by the artificers at Sydney Harbour Trust (S.H.T.) containing the names of 232 men who served in the First World War, including 40 who were killed. The board comprises lettering impressed and then enamelled on a brass sheet, the same system being used to make instrument guages on ships. Among the names listed is a Sergeant William Crockett and his eldest son William Ezra Cockett, both were killed within a few days of each other in different battles. Sergeant Crockett was wounded on 19 July 1916 dying of his wounds, while his only son was killed in action several days later at Poziers. Privatee Watherston is also listed and is one of three brothers killed in the war.
