It is a small rural village, located thirty-four miles from West Wyalong within the Bland Shire. Located at the town's memorial park, these memorial gates feature two honour roll plaques commemorating those who served in the Second World War. Between the concrete pillars are two metal swing gates featuring a Rising Sun emblem and a metal sign links the top of the pillars. Located within the park is a small stone obelisk, faced with a plaque commemorating those who fell in the war, accompanied by a flagpole. Initial moves to establish a memorial park began in 1944. In January, the Tallimba RSL sub-Branch stated that the organization was prepared to erect memorial gates if the Bland Shire accepted the gift of two blocks of land to establish a park. Council took action to accept the park and accepted the principle of a local committee to develop and manage it. A detailed report on the park was published in the West Wyalong Advocate on 10 September 1945. The plan allowed for a memorial entranceway or arch with a central circle in the park to be set out for a memorial to be later decided upon. Three years later, the Advocate, 15 April 1948 reported that Council had granted permission for the Committee to erect the gates at an approximate cost of 40 pounds. At that stage, no action was taken but a year later, on 5 May 1949, the newspaper published a list of names to be placed on an honour roll. Five months later, the Bland Shire again granted permission to the Committee to erect memorial gates and pillars at the entrance to the park. The final date of construction or dedication is unknown.
