Waratah Park Memorial Gates Middle Image Image Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background The Waratah Park Memorial Gates consist of four stone pillars, which support metal gates. Attached to the pillars are stone tablets, inscribed with an honour roll of those who fell in the First World War. The memorial is located at the northern entrance to Waratah Park, opposite Waratah Rail Station. Inscription Left tablet 1914 This memorial was erected by the citizens of Waratah 23rd February 1921 in honour of the men of the Municipality who fell in the Great European War. A. Griffiths Esq J.P., Mayor W.T. Jackson Esq J.P. Secretary Memorial Committee. Right tablet 1919 War Declared 4th August 1914. Armistice Signed 11th November 1918. Peace Declared 28th June 1919.
