St John's Anglican Church Memorial Sundial, Raymond Terrace Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background A stepped, hexagonal stone sundial. The memorial was originally erected in 1871 in memory of notable local resident, Archibald Windeyer. Following the Second World War, it was repurposed with the placement of seven individual memorial plaques to veterans around its base. Notes on veterans' names: S J G Reeve is listed on Australian War Memorial documents as missing believed taken prisoner, and the World War 2 Nominal Roll indicates he was a prisoner of war. He is therefore listed as DPOW. All other status codes have been taken from information contained in the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour, the World War 2 Nominal Roll, and the National Archives of Australia.
