Robert McEwan was born on 17 August 1907 in Edinburgh, Scotland. On 3 September 1922, he and his wife Emily migrated to Australia on the ship 'Barrabool'. They settled in Victoria. Robert enlisted in the Australian Army on 12 June 1940. With the rank of Sergeant, he served with the 3 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery. He was discharged from the Army on 15 August 1948. Robert died 21 August 1984. By this time, he was living in Ingleburn NSW.
