Citation for Military Medal

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations west of BRAY on 22nd August 1918. Private FLICK was acting as Company runner working from Company Headquarters to the front line and Battalion Headquarters and did great and important work. He effectively carried urgent messages through intense shell and machine gun fire whilst the operation was in a very critical stage. The messages to the front line were carried under the full view of the enemy. The splendid and courageous work of this runner was very marked and was a fine example of devotion to duty and disregard to danger.
