Charles was wounded in action on 2 September 1918 and was returned to Bristol, UK on 5 September 1918.

He returned to Australia aboard the Delta, leaving on 25 January 1919 and arriving in Australia on 22 March 1919. He was discharged on 1 May 1919.

Charles was awarded the British War Medal (#60845) and the Victory Medal (#58924).

Brother of Private Arthur Ernest Beileiter. Cousin of the brothers Private John Beileiter, Corporal Arthur Samuel Beileiter and Private Charles Lyons Beileiter.

In total, five members of the Beileiter family served in the First World War.
