He could have been evacuated from the beach and died at sea aboard a hospital ship. He has no known grave at Gallipoli but is Commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial. There is no clear indication that Finch ever lived in Bungendore, although his sister did and his father was the acting manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Braidwood at the time of his son’s death. “His inclusion on the Bungendore Memorial appears to be a sign of respect for his family as well as acknowledgement of his sacrifice.”

  8. Palerang Council gave notice in the Bungendore Mirror 18 March 2015 that it intended to use the road name of Finch Street in the 128 Ellendon St Bungendore development (DA 2013 .008/MOD.2014.095).Origin of the name cited as being commemorated on the Bungendore Memorial Roll of Honour.
  9. Remembered at the ANZAC Day Main Service,Centenary of the Gallipoli Landings 2015, Bungendore by the Bungendore Public School, as one of the eight Bungendorian ANZACs who died at Gallipoli.
  10. Application to use Rising Sun Badge: On 03 November 2015 the Bungendore War Memorial Committee applied to Army Branding to use the Rising Sun badge on the  street sign for "Finch" in the town of Bungendore as part of the Centenary of ANZAC Commemorations.This request was approved on 21 December 2015.
