1. Listed Bygone Queanbeyan as "POW HMAS PERTH (Bungendore)"  . Not listed Bungendore War Memorial Hall ROH but " Kitcher D." recorded on Collinson "Final List".

2. DVA Nominal Roll:Only "David " listed as follows: POB:31.05.1923/Bungendore;DATE/POE:26.05.1941 /Sydney;Locality on Enlistment:NK;NOK; Frank Kitcher; Discharge Date /Unit:23.06.1943/HMAS PERTH (POW).

3.Not originally listed as Died of Illness or KIA on Bungendore ROH however this ommission was rectified in August 2014.

4.AWM ROH pdf file:Parents Frank H. Kitcher and Alice Mary Kitcher  101 Burnett St Merrylands NSW .David's occupation reorded as 'Stores Clerk".residing in Merrylands. Commemorated on the Merryland NSW ROH.

5. AWM ROH File:Listed as Able Seaman but CWGC refers to Ordinary Seaman. Died of Illness 23.06.1943 Burma (Myanmar).Buried Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery ,Burma.A10.E.6.

6. NAA File ( 2 pages) records that he was promoted to A/AB on 31.05.194 

7.In WW2 HMAS PERTH was torpedoed by the Japanese and sank on 1March 1942. Of the PERTH's Ship's Company of 686,only 218 returned to Australia after the war.Many became Prisoners of War and were incarcerated in camps near Batavia, Java. 

8. Commemorated on the AWM Roll of Honour Panel 5 (HMAS PERTH) and on the Australian Ex-Prisoner of War Memorial,Ballarat, Victoria.

9.His Brother Malcolm Francis Moore is alao commemorated on the Bungendore War Memorial.10.Last updated May 2016

Notes: 

1. Goulburn Evening Post 2.03.1944: Reported that the Son of Mr & Mrs F. Kitcher ,Burnett St Merrylands, and a native of Bungendore (NSW) died in a Japanese POW camp in June.     

2.AIF Project:.David's Father , Frank Herbert Kitcher served in WW1 as Private # 1891 with the 1st Light Horse Regiment.RTA 15.11.1918.His Brothers George (3084) KIA,Stanley (3085) DOW, William (4539) KIA.DOD 4.10.1965.

3.Goulburn Evening Pennty Post 17.06.1938 reported that the the Kitcher Family were farewelled at the Bungendore  Federal Hall on reloacting to the Parramatta Area to improve Frank Kitcher's health.

4. Stephenson: John Kitcher born and died 6.10.192 ,son of Frank and Alice Kitcher, was buried inj the Presbyterian section of the Bungendore Cemetery.
