1.There are three "Martins Leslie,Lloyd (Army, Gundaroo) & Reginald" and two "Martains D (B) & R (B)" listed in Bygone Queanbeyan. Only the D & R Martains are listed on the Bungendore War Memorial Hall ROH.The Collinsin "Final List " only records "Martin D,L and R." 2.Martins D & L (LLoyd,Gundaroo) have been accounted for in this record on the basis that both have definite Bungendore connections. The DVA Nominal Roll would indicate that the only Martains who served were all from WA so it is presumed that the Bygone Queanbeyan listing is in error and indeed some "double accounting' has occurred with the Martins/Martains. 3. On balance it is considered that the mosl ikely candidate as the "R. Martin " for this record is NX79240 who was born in Gundaroo and lived in Goulburn. This Digger has also been identified as a Gundaroo veteran on www.gundaroo.info. 4.DVA Nominal Roll: DATE/POB:9.05.1913/Gundaroo,NSW;DATE/POE:18.12.1941/Paddington,NSW;LOCALITY ON ENLISTMENT:Goulburn;NOK:Dorothy Martin; DISCHARGE DATE /UNIT:23.04.1944/2/11 Aust Armd C Regt.
