6. AWM Photo: P09604.003: Studio portrait of 1607 Private (Pte) Arthur James Matthews, 4th Battalion. In August 1915 he was wounded in his foot at Gallipoli (Lone Pine) and evacuated to England for treatment. He re-joined his unit in January 1916 and was transferred to the Western Front. Pte Matthews was killed in action on 13 May 1916.

8. Application to use Rising Sun Badge: On the 3rd of November 2015 the Bungendore War Memorial Committee applied to Army Branding to use the Rising Sun badge on a proposed street sign for "Matthews" in the town of Bungendore as part of the Centenary of ANZAC Commemorations. This request was approved on 21 December 2015.
