3. AWM Embarkation Roll: Rank: Private ;Unit: 56 Infantry Battalion - 2 to 9 Reinforcements (April 1916 - January 1917) ; Age: 35 ; Occupation:Contractor ;  DOE: 23.06.1916 ; Embarked:30.09.1916.HMAT Aeneas.A60.

4. AWM Nominal Roll: Rank:Private ;Unit: 35 Battalion;     DOE:26.02.1916 : RTA: 23.06.1919.

5. Stephenson:Died 17.10.1935 aged 55.Son of Mrs Mary Agnes and the late Thomas Joseph Murphy,survived by wife (Mary Evelyn) and one daughter Margaret.Buried Bingendore.

6. Queanbeyan Ageand Observer 6.10.1916 records the arrival of troops at Sydney railway station being meet by a large crowd: "...A number of Bungendore people werer waiting,and as the local lads passed they were easily picked out as Private Tom Murphy carried the Bungendore flag which was given them by Mr John Chinnery in Goulburn.The lads marched to Moore Park and were soon met by relatives and friends. They sailed away on Saturday morning with best wishes from all the large assembage."
