3. By Greg Nash 31.03.2014:

Following detalis relate to Leslie Nash: James Nash (Monaro Pioneers) from Askeating Ireland is my Great Great Grandfather, his wife was Catherine, (nee McNamara), and her sister Margaret and had already arrived in Bungendore with her husband John Wall when the Nashs arrived in 1856. My Great Grandfather Michael Nash was 7, his sisters Bridget 5 and Mary 2 when they arrived. On the Stephenson list is Michael, his sister Bridget his brother John and his son William Patrick (listed on Monaro Pioneers).

Michael married Elizabeth McKay in 1877 and his brother John married her sister Catherine in1891. Michael and Elizabeth had 12 children the youngest born in 1902 Leslie Bernard (listed on the DVA and Bungendore ROH).

My Grandmother was their 7th child Catherine Geraldine who had my father, Joseph Anthony (Tony) { Anthony Joseph Nash served during WWII in PNG with the 83 Mobile Search Light as  N37868} with Herbert McKie son of Jonh McKie. Catherine and Herbert never married, Catherine later married Henry (Harry) Locke who served with the 6th LHR, Herbert married Pauline Sparrow. Michael and Catherine's daughter Elizabeth married Michael Sherd.
As a boy I spent many a happy time on the farm "Pine Valley" bought by Michael in 1923 and where my father spent a lot of his childhood. This was just out of town on the Captains Flat road adjacent to the railway.
