7. By PJH 03-04-14: It is considered that the Ruben Smith 2241 identified as the first Digger in the AWM Photograph at para 6 above is incorrect. Ruben 2241 was plain Ruben Smith from Candelo and 55 Battalion whilst all the others identified were from Bungendore and 56. Battalion. This Digger in the photograph is deemed to be Ruben Clarence Smith 2489 who RTA He was indeed the brother of Cyril Thomas Smith 2485.Email forwarded to AWM this date.

9. Commemorated on the ROH in St Thomas' Anglian Church Carwoola, NSW, on the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour Panel 163 and in the Bungendore Cemetery on the headstone of his younger brother (See photograph attached).
10. Application to use Rising Sun Badge: On 03 November 2015 the Bungendore War Memorial Committee applied to Army Branding to use the Rising Sun badge on a proposed street sign for "Smith" in the town of Bungendore as part of the Centenary of ANZAC Commemorations. This request was approved on 21 December 2015.
