Queanbeyan Age 18.11.1919:'On Friday night, 7th November a home reception was given to Corporal Reuben Smith at Brooklyn, near Captrin's Flat on his return from fighting line, where hespent over three years servinghis King and country.Corporal Smith enlisted from Currandooley near Bungendore. In the heat of battle Corporal Smith was fighting side by side with his brother, Cyril Smith, when he saw his brother almost completely cut in two by a gunshot, he caught him in his arms as he died. Private Cyri who enlisted from Bungendore, was a single man...... '
