8.Queanbeyan Age and Observer 07.05.1918 reported on a Welcome Home function at the Federal Hall (Bungendore) for Private E. Sweeney and Sergt  Alf  Taylor,both of whom were presented with medals.

9.Queanbeyan Age 3.8.1917:Bungendore - Our Soldier Boys: Reported that, " Sergeant A.C Taylor hsd won the DCM and had been presented by the King on King,s Birthday with the medal.It is two years since he enlisted and was for a time at Gallipoli.He went to France on 23 July 1916 and was in action there till 5 March (NAA file 3.3.1917)when he was severely wounded.At the present time he is in England and is progressing..."

10. Queanbeyan Age 26.03.1918: Bungendore:Reported several issues relating to Sergt Alf Taylor DCM:Shot through the knee;member of the local rifle club before going to the war;brother of Tom (fell in France),Len (also seriously wounded by gunshot.Suggest that "Len" was a cousin),Owen (severly wounded at Polygon Wood in back and legs )and Victor (still in the trenches).

11.NAA File: Contains no recored of the award of the DCM nor do the AWM online records document such an award.

12. Died 18.10.1955 Royal North Shore Hospital.
