3.Boer War Memorial website 21.05.14: Details of service in war: From December 1899 with the Australian Horse in northern Cape Colony, Free State, and east Transvaal; with French’s cavalry division including relief of Kimberley (February 1900). Wounded in the shoulder at Driefontein on the 10 March 1900. April 1901 - April 1902 with 3 NSWMR in Free State and East Transvaal under Rimington including Boer breakthrough at Langverwacht (24 February 1902).In WW1 he served as an Officer #24293 in the New Zealand Army 1914 to 1918, he was wounded at Polygon Wood. Goulburn Evening Penny Post 27.2.1917:Soldiers Letter :Reported that ,"Lieutenant Taylor is a Bungendore boy,but he lived in New Zealand for some years.He served in the Boer War, and enlisted for the present war almost as soon as hostilities were declared,but was employed training men in the Dominion. Five of Lieut Taylor's brothres are at the front.His parents ive near Bungendore".
5. Queanbeyan Age 28.03.1918:In the context of "Welcome Home" for Alfred Charles Taylor reported that Owen Taylor was severly wounded in the back and legs at Polygon Wood .He was sent to New Zealand where he underwent treatment( at Rotorua hot springs).
6. He died in New Zealand on 6 March 1964 aged 83.
