1.Listed Bungendore War Memorial Hall WW 1 ROH (1917-Added name) and Bygone Queanbeyan as "Watling R.(B)".

2. “MAPPING ANZACS”:Has two Watlings who could be candidates for the Bungendore Memorial ROH :Reginald (# 3231) and Richard Leslie (# Depot # 2511) both of whom were brothers and born in Bungendore. An examination of the NAA files suggests that Reginald is the individual listed on the Bungendore Memorial. Details are as follows: Service Number:3231;POB:Bungendore:POE:Goulburn,NSW; NOK: Father : James Watling "Wallingdale",Towrang.

3. AWM Embarkation Roll: Rank:Private ;Unit:55 Infantry Battalion - 6 to 9 Reinforcements (October 1916 - January 1917); Age:19 9/12 ; Occupation:Labourer ;DOE:4.10.1916; Embarked:11.11.1916.Sydney.HMAT Suevic .A29.

4. AWM Nominal Roll: Rank:Private;Unit: M.G.Bn.Dtls ;DOE:7.10.1916 : RTA: 8.05.1918 .

5. Suffered GSW to chest France 1917.

6. Queanbeyan Age 28 January 1916 reported on the arrival of the Men from Snowy River Recruitment March in Bungendore on the 24th.The  report stated that a number of local men gave their names as potential recruits but did not join the March at that time. "Richard" Watling susequently enlisted on 4.10.1916 at Goulburn.
