Veteran Notes/Bio

He seemed to be in a lot of trouble - drunk on duty; AWL (once for nearly a whole month); refusal to obey orders; commiting offence against the property of inhabitant of the country; in town without a pass; holding another man's paybook and he was court martialled. He was also wounded in action and so ill it seemed he would die. Despite all this he later applied for his war medals (and got them)!
