Proceeded from Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force , Gallipoli, 5 April 1915.
Wounded in action, 30 April 1915 (gun shot wound, left side and shoulder); admitted to No 17 General Hospital, Alexandria, 2 May 1915. Transferred to England, 25 June 1915, and admitted to Manchester Hospital.
Commenced return to Australia from Plymouth on board 'Suevic', 8 October 1915 (compound fracture of pelvis); discharged Sydney (medically unfit), 20 December 1916.
