Description / Background

Monument made of polished Australian grandee granite bearing an honour roll for RSL members and residents of Burringbar who served in the Second World War, subsequent conflicts and peace keeping operations. The roll is 150mm thick, approximately 2.5 metres long and 1.1 metre tall. It sits atop two steps, made from engineered reinforced concrete slabs. The bottom step has two polished grandee granite plaques attached on the front and back of the memorial, bearing dedications. The plaques measure 2.7mm long by 375mm tall by 20mm thick. All inscriptions are gilded to ensure long life.
