It is secured in a concrete slab with two plaques inset in the slab at the base of the fountain. In 1960 the Manning River Branch of the Air Force Association installed a fountain in memory of fallen comrades. The fountain fell into disrepair and in October 2015 a memorial fountain was re-dedicated in the park. The restoration was funded by contributions from RSL members, a Department of Veterans Affairs 'Saluting Their Service Grant', the Manning Valley Branch Air Force Association, Mid Coast Water, Greater Taree City Council and Street Furniture, Australia.
