Albert John Archer was born at Falconer near Guyra and attended Tubbamurra Public School. As a single farm labourer of Tubbamurra, he had volunteered in the Australian Light Horse before enlisting in the 33rd Battalion, A Company on 16 November 1915, as a single private, aged 26 years. On 4 April 1918, he died at Villers-Bretonneux as a Company Quartermaster Sergeant. He was buried in the Crucifix Cemetery at Villers-Bretonneux, France
