Barraba Public School Great War Roll of Honor

The memorial is a pressed bronze roll of honor plaque, mounted on a timber backing board which is edged with a timber frame. The dedication and names are inscribed on individual plates and attached to the middle of the plaque. 

The memorial was made by the Wunderlich Company of Sydney and is decorated with their typical features, including flora, crossed swords and cannons. At the bottom of the plaque is a 'coat of arms' style emblem, with a ship, a sheep, mining equipment and a wheat sheaf. Their standard design was customisable with the details of the local community or organisation commissioning the memorial. The name plates were made available for attachment.

While the official unveiling date is unknown, the Daily Observer (Tamworth) reported "some returned soldiers placed a wreath on the honor roll at the Barraba public school on Anzac Day" in their issue on 2 May 1918.

The roll is located in the primary school assembly hall at Barraba Central School, where various commemorative services are held. Access to the memorial is restricted as it is inside the school grounds.
