Description / Background

The Corowa Flag Court consists of a three flagpoles, positioned in front of a brick wall. The wall features several plaques, dedicated to conflicts in which Australia has been involved. There are also four emblem plaques of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Imperial Forces, Royal Australian Air Force, and Merchant Navy.

The area around the memorial has been paved with bricks and a low, brick fence edges the paving on three sides. Two planter boxes have been incorporated into the fence, which contain rosemary bushes.

The memorial was dedicated on 28 March 1993 by Lieutenant Robert S. Jackson, MC JP. It is owned by Federation Council and they built it on land leased from NSW Railways. The monument is maintained by the council and the Corowa RSL sub-Branch assist with maintaining the surrounds and cleanliness of the space.

The Flag Court is located in a park on Betterment Parade, facing the intersection with Arnott Street. It is used for Anzac Day and Remembrance Day services and to commemorate special events, such as the death of an RSL member or a sovereign. Behind the memorial are a 25-pound Howitzer, a ships anchor, and an aeroplane propellor.
