The identity of Ross T on the Auburn War Memorial is yet to be conclusively determined.
Ross TR is listed on Auburn’s South Parade Temporary Honour Roll and on the Municipality of Auburn Honour Roll 1914-1919. The name Ross T does not appear on any of the Auburn school or church honour rolls. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the Honour Roll at the Australian War Memorial Canberra list only two soldiers of the First AIF who died in the war with the name Ross T but both were interstate enlistees and their files reveal no connection with Auburn. Over 120 members of the AIF with the surname Ross died in the war but as yet there is no evidence linking any of them to Auburn.
