Sergeant Daniel Frank Rixon Memorial Plaque, Tamworth Middle Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This metal plaque is dedicated to Sergeant Daniel Frank Rixon, who died on active service on 7 May 1945 during the Second World War. It is mounted on a timber backing board and is attached to a wall inside Tamworth City Uniting Church, formerly Tamworth Methodist. Daniel Frank Rixon was born in Tamworth on 23 November 1922. A resident of Tamworth, he enlisted in Port Morseby, Papua. As a Sergeant in the 2/1 Field Regiment, he died on 7 May 1945 at Wewak, New Guinea.
