The honour roll is set in a simply designed timber frame and lists the names and fate of 29 ex-students in gothic script across three columns. The Australian and Union Jack flags are painted on each side above the names. Beryl is a small rural village area located twenty-four kilometres west of Gulgong. The Beryl Public School opened in August 1881 and closed in May 1962. The honour roll would have been unveiled in the Beryl Public School, however the date of the ceremony and dedication has not been determined. The memorial is now located in the military room of the Gulgong Pioneers Museum and is available for viewing when the museum is open to the public.
