Harley was a bank manager who lived on Dolphin St. Coogee. He enlisted as a private in 35th Inf. Btn in April 1916. He served in France and Belgium and was appointed 2nd Lieutenant and transferred to 36th Btn as a full Lieutenant. He was killed at St Quentin, France.
