Uranquinty Flying Training School Memorial Middle Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background This war memorial consists of an aeroplane engine mounted on a pole, with a plaque attached to a large boulder positioned at its base. It is located at the rest stop and information board on the side of the Olympic Highway in Uranquinty. Also on site is a plaque commemorating the 50th anniversary of flight training. Inscription Bushrock plaque 5 Service Flying Training School RAAF Uranquinty within the Empire Air Training Scheme during World War ll graduated over fifteen hundred pilots for the defence of Australia and the Commonwealth.
