Description / Background

The Barellan and District War Memorial Club was constructed from 1950–1951, following several years of discussion and planning (Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser, 23 June 1944; Daily Advertiser, 2 June 1950). A granite tablet at the entrance to the club is inscribed with the dedication to those who served in the First and Second World Wars.

Inside the club is a polished timber roll of honour for the Second World War. The names of those who served are printed in gold lettering, across five columns. Positioned beneath the roll is an eternal flame. The roll was unveiled around February 1954 (The West Wyalong Advocate, 4 February 1954).
