Description / Background

The church is a red brick building with a pillar and beam structure, containing a choir alcove, choir room, vestry and a bell tower alcove. Inside, it measures 80 ft by 29 ft, with seating for 300. The foundation stone was laid on 29 September 1957 and the church was opened on 22 March 1958.

To the left, just inside the entrance, is the dedicated memorial section in the bell tower alcove. Black art deco, wrought iron gates secure the entrance, with the Australian flag and Union Jack standing on either side. Inside the alcove, there are three stained glass windows with inscriptions dedicated to those who made the Supreme Sacrifice. Hanging on the alcove wall are two honour rolls, with one commemorating the First World War and one commemorating both the First and Second World Wars.

Within the church are other memorials, including a communion table, pulpit, choir unit, moderator's chair, hymn book cabinet and two communion cabinets. These items are dedicated to individual service personnel.

The architect of the church was Mr Finley Munroe and the design was by Mr Alexander Buckham, who was the Leeton Shire Engineer. It was built by local builder Mr Les Jack using voluntary labour. The foreman was Mr Jim Anderson and the plumber was Mr Cec Eckley. Bricks for the construction were obtained from local brickworks at Yanco.
