Barker College First World War Honour Rolls Middle Image Image Image 0 / 0 - Prev Next Description / Background Six bronze panels on two brick pylons list the names of former students who served and died in the First World War. The pylons sit on either side of steps from the playground below the Head of School's office. These steps replaced the original timber roll of honour (pictured) which was installed and dedicated in 1916 but was later destroyed by a fire at the school in 1935. There are 213 names on these honour rolls. These are the names of old boys who served with the Australian Imperial Force, Australian Flying Corp, Royal Field Artillery, Royal Garrison Artillery, Royal Flying Corp and various other First World War military forces. Only their names and service details are recorded below. We now know more than 230 Barker College boys enlisted to serve in the Great War, however their names have not been added to the rolls.
